I am new to canning so can't compare the functionality of this canner to others; however, it seems to be a high quality one. I was quite afraid of it at first, just due to the fact that I'm afraid of such things by nature, but the dual system of regulator weight and dial guage helped much to ease the concerns (no, it didn't blow up!)

It certainly seems to be "built like a tank"; unfortunately, it looks like one, too. I can't imagine how a $300 piece of kitchen equipment could sport, sitting front and center, right, smack, dab on top of it, such a hideous and cheap-looking handle. It appears that the company thought the old, less obtrusive looking handle wasn't sturdy enough or something. Still...... I didn't expect high style but I sure was disappointed that this manufacturer couldn't have come up with something more appealing. No matter what the item, whether a dishwasher or a door knob, a frying pan or a ceiling fan, it seems to me that in addition to strictly functional needs, we all need food for the soul, too. My European tea kettle, which heats water, whistles, and in short is a mostly functional item, gives me great pleasure every time I use it, just by looking at it's lines, its nicely shaped handle, or feeling the perfect balance in my hands. Although I have to say that this is definitely a functional pressure canner, that is the extent of its virtues. Why, why, why can't an American company come up with a product that is the least bit attractive?! -- Great quality; unfortunate style

This pressure canner is awesome. Does the job nicely. It was our first time canning. No problems. Just follow the instructions.

I seldom buy things that live up to my expectations anymore...but I must say that the All-American Pressure Cooker/Canner did not leave me disappointed. It is well made and should truly be something to hand down to my children and grandchildren. We got the 30-qt. and it is quite heavy, I just happen to still have a husband to help out...would be difficult on my own...also I am 5'2" tall and so I have to stand on a stool to load and unload it. But we chose that one because we could can more quarts at one time. We would purchase again. -- Not Disappointed

I have wanted to buy an All-American for quite some time. Due to having a glass top stove I have been limping by with a 16 qt. presto for a while. Recently I bought a Camp Chef camp stove for outdoor canning and love it. I want to upgrade now and buy this 30 qt. canner All-American to boost my productivity. Amazon reports the shipping weight to be 28 pounds so filled this will be quite a bit of weight. Has anyone used this canner with the above mentioned camp stove? I want to know this canner will heat up correctly and if the stove will handle the weight of a filled canner. -- Question about using on a camp stove
